The publication is a visual investigation of middle and upper class domestic spaces in Cairo. Rather than looking at iconic Egyptian sites, such as the Nile, this work focuses on the confined intimacy of interior spaces where traces of past lives blend with new possible futures. This double presence alludes to the paradoxical imaginary in which Egypt is caught, between nostalgia and utopian megalomania.
